Omelette Fast Food in the Philips AirFryer

The Omelette is one of the most versatile fast foods, along with the baked potato, these can have so many different fillings. Preparation time is extremely short and clean up time is too, Philips have made the food basket dish washer safe, although it takes only a few seconds to wash up by hand too.

Omelette

Using the Philips airfryer non stick baking tray, is the simplest way to cook an omelette.

First beat three eggs into a bowl, add a teaspoon of butter and some milk (2 Tablespoons) , or cream as you prefer.  It is possible to get good results with no butter, I think its far tastier with a little bit of best butter though.

The filling: My favourite has to be cheese, simply grate it into the mixture , you can use more than one cheese variety too. If you like peppers or onions, it is probably preferable to saute these first for a few minutes, before adding to the mixture, if you add them raw, chop them finely. Tomatoes, herbs pepperoni slices, corned beef, ham, bacon, potato, anchovies…. the list of things you can add into an omelette is endless. Great idea for using left overs!

Cooking:

Set the Airfryer to 180 degrees and cook for 15 minutes. It needs no attention, so you just leave it to cook.

One alternative, when using slices of cheese is to cook for 10 mins, then carefully slice it in half , inserting your slice of cheese, then return to the airfryer for the remaining five mins.

Serving:

You can serve hot or cold, it makes great picnic food together with a nice crusty baguette
