How We Research
Every guide on Air Fryer Chips starts with one question: will this air fryer work for the person who is shopping for it? That means your counter space, how many people you cook for and how you like to run the controls.
Here is how we answer it.
1. We start with your kitchen
A single cook with a small counter needs a different air fryer than a family of five. A 2 qt mini and a 10 qt dual basket solve different problems.
We look at the outside size, the basket size and the weight. When your space limits the choice, we say what to measure first.
2. We compare specs and features
We check basket capacity, wattage, temperature range, presets and control type (dial, buttons or touchscreen). We also look at extras like a viewing window, a shake reminder and what comes in the box.
Makers describe their air fryers in their own words, so we name the brand for every claim. We also note the warranty terms the maker lists.
3. We look at buyer feedback
We read through what buyers report after using an air fryer. We look for patterns, like loud fans, baskets that are hard to clean, coatings that wear and controls that are hard to read.
One angry review doesn't sink a product. A pattern does.
4. We score each product
Our score weighs specs, features and buyer feedback against what you're shopping for. An air fryer that is great for a family may score lower in a guide written for one person.
Scores spread out on purpose. A 10 is rare.
5. We keep pages up to date
Models change, and some disappear from stores. Makers sell near-identical air fryers under close names, so we check each model number and what comes in the box, and we only link new units.
We skip unknown brands with no track record and any model with a known recall. When we update a guide, the "Updated on" date at the top changes with it.
What our picks are not
Our picks are research, not lab tests. We don't claim to have used every air fryer we cover.
An air fryer gets very hot. We don't call any model safe, and we label maker claims as the maker's claims.
